The Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers auxiliaires du Québec (hereinafter, the “OIIAQ”) [Quebec Order of Licensed Practical Nurses] owns and operates a website at the address www.oiiaq.org (hereinafter, the “site”). All addresses associated with the primary domain name “oiiaq.org” (e.g. “membres.oiiaq.org”) are also considered part of the site.
Unless specified otherwise on the site, the site is available to all users (hereinafter, the “users”). By exploring this site, you agree to the following conditions. If you do not wish to comply with these conditions, please do not consult this site.
The OIIAQ may modify the information provided below simply by updating this page of the site.
Limitation of responsibility
The texts, opinions, notices and information expressed or made available on the site or via hyperlinks are the sole responsibility of their authors, and not of the OIIAQ. The site’s content and hyperlinks are made available for educational and informational purposes; users should not interpret them as being expert nursing advice. The information, documents and images on the site are provided on an “as is” basis at the update date posted on the page consulted. The OIIAQ cannot be held responsible for the accuracy of any advertising content on the site.
The OIIAQ does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the site, to the hyperlink content or to the email links provided on the site. The OIIAQ reserves the right to modify the site without notice. Subject to certain exceptions, the OIIAQ seeks to keep the site updated, although it does not undertake to do so continually. In the event that users find errors on the site, they are asked to contact the site administrator service.communications@oiiaq.org so that any such errors may be corrected as soon as possible.
Copyright
The form and content of the site are protected under the Copyright Act and under Quebec, Canadian and foreign laws governing intellectual property. All information and documents available on the site are the exclusive property of the OIIAQ. The domain name “oiiaq.org” (and all sub-domains such as “membres.oiiaq.org”), together with the logos of the OIIAQ and the LPN committees (CIIA), are the exclusive property of the OIIAQ.
Users are prohibited from reproducing for distribution purposes by any means any texts, computer codes, opinions, notices, videos, images, training modules, files or information contained, expressed or made available on the site. Users wishing to distribute such materials should submit a written request to the OIIAQ service.communications@oiiaq.org. Once their request has been approved, users will be required to follow the OIIAQ’s instructions in this regard.
Users are strictly prohibited from selling or modifying for public, commercial or other purposes any texts, opinions, notices, videos, images, training modules or information contained, expressed or made available on the site.
Security and confidentiality
The OIIAQ and the service provider that hosts the site have implemented a protection system regulating electronic and computer communications. Nevertheless, the OIIAQ is in no way responsible for any potential transmission of computer viruses of any form. Exploring the site and/or downloading documents and images from it are entirely at the users’ risk.
With certain exceptions, the Internet is not considered a secure communications network. Although the OIIAQ takes steps to ensure the site’s security, it is not responsible for any damages sustained by users caused by the transmission of confidential information to a third party using the site’s email links.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files saved on a user’s computer hard drive. These files, which are completely harmless and cannot contain viruses, are a way of recording users’ preferences and making their next site visit more efficient. The use of cookies is customary and a number of major sites use them to better serve their clienteles. In order to analyze the visits to its site, the OIIAQ uses Google Analytics software, which uses cookies to record certain aspects of users’ behaviour, such as the number of visits to the site, the sequence of pages visited and the duration of the visit. Under no circumstances can cookies be used to identify users. All data collected remain completely anonymous and are only used to improve the site in accordance with users’ needs.
Jurisdiction
This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted under Quebec law. Any disputes resulting from this agreement shall be adjudicated by the courts of the judicial district in which the OIIAQ is headquartered, i.e. Montreal.
